The City of Reedsburg encourages citizens to participate in local affairs by serving as advisors to the Mayor and City Council.  All boards, commissions and committees of the city have citizen members.

You can obtain information on the Commission and Committee by reviewing the Municipal Code Chapter 1 and 2 or by selecting each Link. To obtain a "Citizen Participation Applications" for an appointment contact the Mayor, City Clerk-Treasurer  or City Administrator. Applications can be submitted anytime of the year. Most appointments are for a three-year term beginning May 1st, but there are exceptions.

List of Members on Boards, Committees, Commissions

Airport Commission

manages the Reedsburg Municipal Airport - Chapter and as of October 2017 the Taxicab Program - Chapter 30.

City Plan Commission

plans and manages the growth and development of the City and extraterritorial areas

Ethics Committee

advises employees and elected officials about application of the ethics code

Historic Preservation Commission

The Historic Preservation Commission shall identify, evaluate, educate, and advocate preservation of properties and cultural resources within the City of Reedsburg.

Joint Review Board

the Joint Review Board (JRB) members of the JRB represent a taxing jurisdiction (municipal, county, school, technical college) and have the responsibility to approve, deny or amend a Tax Incremental District (TID). They also meet to review annual TIF Reporting.

Library Board of Trustees

The administration of the Reedsburg Public Library is managed by a 7-member Board of Trustees, appointed to 3 year terms by the Mayor of Reedsburg with the Reedsburg City Council confirming those appointments.

The Reedsburg Public Library Board meets the 2nd Thursday of each month at 6:30 PM. Agendas for each meeting are posted at the library and on the City of Reedsburg web site.

Ordinance Committee

advises the Mayor and City Council about new laws and reviews applications for various licenses

Public Safety Committee

advises the Mayor and Common Council on matters regarding the Police, Fire, Ambulance and Emergency Management Departments

Public Works Committee

advises the Mayor and City Council about streets, sidewalks, wastewater treatment plant and other facilities

Reedsburg Area Development Council

plans and manages the growth and development of Reedsburg's extraterritorial areas including the Townships of Reedsburg, Winfield and Excelsior

Reedsburg Arts Committee

advises the Mayor and Common Council on matters regarding Art in Public Places under the policy approved in 2017. The Committee are supervises and manages the 1% Art in Public Places funding program.

Room Tax Commission

Manages the room tax funds (funding derived from Hotel, Motel and Air Bed and Breakfast establishments) The funding is distributed to the Chamber of Commerce, City for Administration, and finally to worthy projects approved by the Room Tax Commission for tourism promotion and development. Information on the Room Tax Commission is located under Chapter 3.09 in the Municipal Code.
